Meet her. :)

Scribbling something.
Debra "Celine" Ser-Lin, better known as Deb, is a student/writer who draws inspiration from observing people and things that happen around her, as she is learning to see the unique side of things, and appreciating as well as bringing out those qualities that she’d observed, in her writing.
Having lived in a basically sheltered yet well-nurtured environment since young, she learned about the outside world and the things happening around her by developing a love for reading, a habit that her dad had helped cultivate in her. Since young, she’s always had almost unbridled, unhide-able imagination – she’s always thinking about something, and even now if you were to catch her at some random moment she’ll be literally displaying her thoughts all over her.
During her childhood days, she created a fictional television channel known as “Super Duper Channel” complete with series, movies and fictional characters to pass the time with her sister and neighbours. In her early teens, she also enjoyed creating fan fiction about her favourite animated series then, which was “Teen Titans”, and telling them to her sister every night.
Deb first discovered her interest for writing when one of her teachers suggested that she joined a writing competition organized by Scholastic when she was in form Four, as her writing abilities were considered to be good by that teacher. Even though she was a little sceptical of her actual writing abilities, as the only reason she thought she could write was that she came from an English-speaking family, she tried out for the competition. Even though her entry didn’t make it due to word count constrains, she realized that she thoroughly enjoyed the process of writing by itself, and started to explore more writing opportunities from there.
The main reason she enjoys writing is because she gets to transfer the knowledge, both facts and feelings, that she gets from reading and conversations into a permanent form, where she can always reflect back on that knowledge and more importantly, share the joy, sadness, indignation and other strong feelings associated in the fiction and non-fiction she writes with her readers. Besides, she expresses herself best in writing as compared to oral communication, so don’t be surprised if she takes a while to start talking in face-to-face situations. However, she’s improving on both ways of communication though with aid of her supportive and inspiring parents, teachers and friends.
Among her ambitions for the future is to pursue a law degree, so that she can use legal knowledge and the complimentary natural talents that she has to contribute to society by helping people understand and make the best decisions when dealing with legal affairs. She also has aspirations of publishing her writings as well as novels in her lifetime.
Currently learning to be a better communicator in USM, Penang, Deb is working hard to make her dreams come true, and while in the process learning through feedback and observation from those around her.

If you really want to get to know me better, you can add me in FB here, but please say you came from reading my blog as I won't exactly entertain stalkers. :)
